kc1005 Posted August 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2008 Morning! We leave on Saturday(yikes!) for our 5 day cruise on the Inspiration. I was told last pm by a friend's sister that there aren't any room safes on that ship. Is this true??? Would our passports/documents be safe in our luggage under the bed(duh, right where anyone would think to look!). Thanks--& thanks for all the info on this board--we've been reading like crazy! twhfan Posted August 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2008 We were on the Inspiration in July. There were safes in our rooms.
Ken076 Posted August 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2008 There ARE room safes on the Inspiration. Bring a magnetic strip grocery card (or equivalent) so you can lockup ALL your credit cards and such, if you wish. There are also Safe Deposit boxes available at the Purser. ken
pungo3 Posted August 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2008 There are definitely safes on the Inspiration (one of my favorite ships). I always put my passports in the safe. Any card with a magnetic strip will do to lock/unlock. They recommend that you NOT use your Sail & Sign card. Have a fabulous cruise.
mom2girls Posted August 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2008 Yes, there are safes on the Inspiration. I recommend you use your driver's liscense to lock/unlock the safe. That way you don't have to worry about having a credit card out.
alwaysmomof1 Posted August 10, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2008 Don't flame me but, don't you need a combo or something for the safe. Last time on the Fantasy we couldn't get our safe open with any card so we didn't use it. I don't understand how you can swipe your drivers license and the safe opens?:confused::confused:
Mooresville4 Posted August 10, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 10, 2008 The safe is open when you get in your room. You use any card with a magnetic strip to lock it. The safe will remember that card and only allow that card to unlock it. Hope this helps.

mom2girls Posted August 10, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 10, 2008 I don't know about all state drivers' licenses but Florida's license has a magnetic strip. So, that's what I use for the safe.
