VicRock Posted August 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2008 My husband and I will be celebrating our first anniversary while on our cruise. While in Quebec City, we'll be there overnight, I would like to go to a french restaurant. does anyone have any recommendations?
Twickenham Posted August 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2008 Restaurant Initiale - near the dock, very nice http://www.restaurantinitiale.com/en/00.html Aux Anciens Canadiens - lovely restaurant, in Upper Town near the Château Frontenac, chic Québécois cuisine http://www.auxancienscanadiens.qc.ca/Homeang.html Le Saint-Amour - as its name suggests, very romantic, one of the city's best, and Paul McCartney's choice when he was in town! http://www.saint-amour.com/en/index.html
2tsquared Posted August 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2008 DH and I will also be celebrating an anniversary (#25) on this trip. Le Saint-Amour seems a good choice. Can I safely assume that cabs are available at Quai 93 to whisk us off for a wonderful Quebec evening? tt :)
Twickenham Posted August 24, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2008 Not sure if right at the dock (Quai 93 is the Coast Guard station, so a bit more restrictive), but certainly you should find some a short walk up to the main road.
2tsquared Posted August 25, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Thanks so much for the info. We'll be sure to check things out the morning of arrival.
WehoAtlantis Posted August 26, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 26, 2008 My partners family is from Quebec City and if you want authentic local quisine, goto Aux Anciens Canadiens which was mentioned above. The meat pie is the best. We made reservations by telephone for our cruise. They have the menu on there site and it was just on a travel show-which I forgot which one.
