Submerge yourself in the magnificent underwater world of Maui aboard an Atlantis Submarine. This once-in-a-lifetime journey is made aboard a 65-foot submarine. Upon check-in, you'll board a shuttle to the submarine dive site, located just two miles from Lahaina harbor. From December to April, you may find yourself escorted by whales! On your 45-minute submarine dive, you'll witness the watery world that surrounds you and see a variety of exotic tropical fish, coral gardens, and a sunken vessel. Note: Participants must be at least 3 feet in height and must be able to safely climb a nearly vertical seven-step ladder into and out of the submarine. Viewing of the Carthaginian may not be possible in adverse weather conditions.

We did this same excursion several years go on the Wind. Your ship will dock on the opposite side of the island, so you have to ride buses to get to Lahaina. The bus ride is approximately 40 minutes or so. Then you go to the Atlantis site at the harbor and you will board a boat that will take you out to the submarine mooring. This is where you will actually climb down into the submarine.

After the submarine experience, they will bring you back to the harbor area and you should have time to wander around Lahaina and explore the shops and buildings. NCL has buses that run back and forth from the ship to Lahaina at frequent intervals during the day. This a a really fun day. We thoroughly enjoyed the submarine ride, and an added bonus was the transportation to Lahaina which is a picturesque historical town.
