Lotus Spa Gratuities

Hi,

 

We're a bit confused, we've booked a couple of sessions at the Spa on Cruise Personalizer, and when we booked it said that a 15% gratuity would be added to the bill, but the Cruise Answer book says that any Spa Gratuities are discretionary and will not be added to the bill. Can anyone help here?

 

I know the Spa's on Sapphire and Caribbean are a different set up in that they are run by Princess rather than a 3rd party - does this effect the gratuities..?

On the CB they added a automatic 15% gratuity. There is also a line for additional gratuity (should you desire) when you sign your bill as you leave the spa.

It is very confusing. As Antash pointed out, on the Caribbean Princess, they automatically add the tip. But recently I was on the Diamond Princess, they do not add it. Well I was on the CB earlier this year so when I had a massage on the DP, I forgot to add a tip because they did it for me on the CB. I realized it when I got home. I feel so bad for my massage therapist -- especially since she was so good.

 

My recommendation is to ask when you leave the spa!
