Grandeur April 3rd-younger perspective

Recommended Posts

It's official...I don't think I should have been on these boards at all before our cruise took off. People can be so judgemental towards their entire cruise after somthing so small going wrong. I went onto the cruise expecting bad food and a dirty ship.

I'm 17, and as a younger cruiser, maybe I don't look so far into things, but Grandeur of the Seas was overall perfect. The weather was perfect, the waiters were incredible with all they had to do. I had the best time ever! In fact I cried when we had to leave. Our head waiter was Yogesh (Yogi) from India. He was the sweetest guy on earth and did everything humanly possible to make our dinner experiences awesome! The food was excellent! It would have to be for the 4 lbs. I gained this week.

What I love so much about these cruises is how outgoing people are. I feel like I've known the people I met my whole life. Royal Caribbean does a really good job of planning activities for everyone. I found that the first few nights we all would go to the scheduled activities and eventually we all got so close that we'd find our own things to do.

Also, don't listen to everyone telling you not to pack everything you had planned...I found myself wishing I would have brought more.

Overall, the cruise was an awesome experience, yes even the food. Trust me, you'll get your money's worth. To anyone going on Grandeur soon, you'll have a wonderful time. The ship doesn't look as old as everyone makes it out to be, especially if you're just out to have a good, relaxing time.

*Hint: if you want to lay out by the pool, even though they tell you not to, I would get up no later than 8 and lay a towel out. Everyone else does it anyway and it's kind of nice to have a chair down by the pool.

To anyone going on a cruise soon...you have every ounce of my jealousy. If it's your first time, make as many memories possible because it may be a once in a lifetime.

What a wonderful perspective! Thank you!

Sometimes we are only looking to see the bad in a great atmosphere. Your post is to remind us that we are on vacation and should relax. icon_wink.gif

BTW - If you do get up and lay your towel out at 8:00 am, just be sure that your body is with that towel. icon_biggrin.gif

Very refreshing to read your post. Your so right of how someone else who had a bad experience can make you think you may encounter the same.

We were on the Grandeur in '97, glad to hear she is still beautiful.

Hey neighbor, we were on the Grandeur - Eastern Carb. in September of 97, what month for you?

And yes, she was (and appears to still be) a beautiful ship!
