snorkelman Posted August 21, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2008 In my cruise docs I got all the ship sponsored excursions. One is (GC33) called "Reef and Wreck snorkel" You can probably tell from my username that I like to snorkel. I am aware that Grand Cayman has a couple different shallow wrecks that can be visited for snorkeling right from shore. I am wondering which one this is. The RCL documents say that the FIRST snorkel site is a majestic reef system and the SECOND is over a shallow ship wreck. My wife plans on lounging on the nice sandy beach while I snorkel, so I am trying to figure if it is possible to do the exact same snorkel sites on our own. For what it's worth the RCL paperwork indicates that the price is $35 per person for this 2.5 hour excursion.
nolaAlive Posted August 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2008 My guess would be Cheeseburger reef and the wreck of the Cali. you can walk to both, but there is not much in the way of beach along the way. Both sites are before the start of 7 mile Beach which starts about 2 miles from the tenders.
