Anyone ever stay there? I just purchased two nights there in February for just $170/night (thru Hotwire). Seems like a great deal but I've never been there, so I was hoping some fellow cruisers could give me some info...?

 

Also, this is also my first time using Hotwire, so does anyone know if an upgrade to an oceanview room for a fee is possible once I get there?

I stayed there for 2 nights pre-cruise two years ago. You got a great deal on your room! I don't know if you can upgrade when you get there or not; we actually booked oceanview rooms when we went. We really enjoyed staying there and the facilities but I will say that it's pretty expensive and if you don't have a car there isn't too much else around within walking distance. They do have a marina area but they own/control that as well so there aren't really any bargains there. If you're used to staying at resorts then the prices won't be shocking.

I love this hotel! I stayed there for a meeting and wished I could go back for vacation. You got a great rate and it is well worth it. Here is a link to some of my photos of the Diplomat. The pool is georgous and the sushi restaurant was awesome.
