nervoussue Posted October 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2004 Just heard the Majesty will be late tomorrow due to rough seas. They are talking about leaving Boston around mignight. Anyone hear this, too.. I am on the Majesty and we know a man that works at the Terminal and was told this. I was on the trip two years ago and had 26 ft seas. Sounds like a repeat trip over to Bermuda. It was hell. The crew never saw it so bad and that is what is out there now...
nervoussue Posted October 23, 2004 Author #2 Share Posted October 23, 2004 I just talked to NCL. Majesty will be in Boston at 5 p.m. Can't board until 7 p.m. and the boat will leave Boston at 9 p.m. and will be going to Bermuda. We are in for a horrible trip across the Atlantic. Intrepid Posted October 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2004 I was watching the weather today and was wondering...Do you know how we will "officially" be informed? On the website?
nervoussue Posted October 23, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted October 23, 2004 I don't really know if our travel agents will call us. I used the 1-800 number on my tickets. I think http://www.ncl.com will have the news on it's site. When I called NCL they agent just read the changes on her e-mail. I am going to keep calling to see if the Majesty will be in earlier.. Hope so......
Intrepid Posted October 23, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2004 Thank you for the information. I guess we'd better be ready to Rock 'n Roll!
macdays1 Posted October 23, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 23, 2004 Bring masking tape or something to keep your closet doors from swinging. Might also need to tape drawers shut. Just cruised to Bermuda on 10/10 and these things drove me crazy. Finally put the chair in front of the closet doors, then the drawers slid out of the dresser...lol. Had a great time though. That's all that really matters.

Intrepid Posted October 23, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 23, 2004 Thanks for the masking tape advice and the weather news. I just checked Bermuda weather and it doesn't look like it's going to get better any time soon. I hope the library has some good books!

ColoradoLad Posted October 23, 2004 #11 Share Posted October 23, 2004 Hi! I posted as I was on a 1999 Hurricane Mitch encounter on a Commodore ship. That darn killer storm not only got us in the areas near Mexico it caught us and slowed us down in the Gulf as it tracked over the Yucatan. Ok, seasickness pills: many options; I prefer Ginger tabs ongoing then I'll try a "real pill", no my family will, I had been at sea so much in my youth and been in Pacific typhoons. The ships are safe, the Captains but the best. So, enjoy the seas when they are rough: yes, I know everyone is saying "*****?". I saved the Mitch hurricane space pics and the cruise plots and have a greta photo book:sad that we had almost nobody at a few meals; but not always to to being seasick as most did not sleep one night! We had the "worst" storm cabin: the extreme aft cabin! Top deck! I now take a DVD player and will watch "Master and Commander" or such. What I wanted to say is go on deck, experience the sea. That is how folks have done it for centuries. I hear Celebrity has some sort of adventiure cruises: the artic, etc: it is an experience of a lifetime! Take care, good sailing and fair winds to take you home! Colorado I have had great cruises, military cruises (buffet was very bad), underwater cruises, and seen a hurricane and worse a typhoon at sea. If the sea is rough wet the table cloth and the cups and plates will not slide! Took my wife on deck a couple times and she soon learned what I had learned. Thanks had to "vent", I am the fool that gets up at 3:00 am or never goes to bed and watches on deck as we cruise into port. The Houston ship channel, New Orleans and San Franciso, my ATF's! BUt New York boggles one's mind!
www Posted October 24, 2004 #12 Share Posted October 24, 2004 Thanks for the info. I'm scared! I've got the patch though, I hope it works. I went out on the tail end of a hurricane over 20 years ago and it was really bad. I hope the patch works for me. I'm bummed we are leaving late!:(
Intrepid Posted October 24, 2004 #13 Share Posted October 24, 2004 Me too WWW. I'm also bummed that the clouds will be obscuring the moonlight! Maybe we'll have a few breaks in the sky...On the other hand, how about those Red Sox? 4-0 so far!!!!
