yoleven Posted October 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2004 This is our first HAL cruise and we booked at a guaranteed rate knowing that our cabin would be assigned at a later date. We received our documents this week for the Nov 20 Maasdam sailing from Norfolk but no cabin number. Will we get a cabin number before we check in? If not how do we mark luggage to insure it gets to us?
JanAndJeremy Posted October 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2004 Hi there, I work for a travel agency and I get this question a lot. HAL usually determines cabin assignments approx 1 week prior to sailing (sometimes sooner). We found out our cabin assignments for our 10/30 cruise about 3 weeks prior. If, however, in the unlikely event that you do not find out until you board the ship, the gentleman taking your luggage will have a list of all room assignments and they will mark your luggage tags at that time. Giver your TA a call about a week or so prior and your cabin assignment should be complete. Enjoy your cruise! Jan
yoleven Posted October 23, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted October 23, 2004 Thanks Jan, We are looking forward to seeing how HAL compares with Princess and Celebrity. We have cruised several times on their ships but Norfolk is convenient for us.
jazzsea Posted October 24, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 24, 2004 You might check the Holland America Line website. http://www.hollandamerica.com Click on "booked guests". Type in your booking number and last name. The cabin number will show on the next page if it has been assigned. It's also easy to fill out the immigration paperwork and book tours from this site. Your passenger numbers are usually 1 and 2.
1cruiselvr Posted October 24, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 24, 2004 I think you forgot a step - don't you have to choose either immigration form or shore excursions first before the screen asks for booking # and pax? Happy Sailing!
