Sky 8/15 cruise...a little late but good

Hi All,

I promised a trip report when we returned and here it is finally. We just got in from the Keys late last night.

Sky news...

We boarded the ship with no problems, got our bubbly, toured the ship, found our room (were told not to enter it til 2:30 even though it was ready) and just enjoyed our first afternoon on board. Being first time cruisers there was lots to see/do to keep us busy. The guys played some ping pong, I made dinner ressies at Cagneys for Friday night.

We found the room (9040) to be fine, a/c working, toilet flushed, and no strange smells anywhere. In fact the opposite, there was a plesant smell in the hallways. :)

A/c in common areas was hit or miss. One evening the Casino was very warm, another day the Longboard Bar was very warm. But you could just move to another spot on the ship to avoid the troubled areas.

We missed all the weather and had great days in Nassau and GSC. We visited Atlantis, parasailed and snorkeled. All were great.

Food on board was good. We LOVED Cagneys, the food and service were top notch!!! We left the server an additional tip as she went out of her way to get my son mayonaise for his french fries, and made sure that everything was perfect. Try the Sea Bas.....wow!!!

Palace dining room was good, portions seemed small, lobster was just a large shrimp and dry.

Crossings was wonderful. Salmon was excellent! Monk fish yummy!

Buffets were good, food plentiful, atmosphere just okay. Guess I expected more, it just seemed sort of like a glorified cafeteria with good food. A/C worked here in certain spots, better toward the rear of the ship. Ice cream area does cause congestion so enter from the indoor side or the Great Outdoors end and you will do better.

All in all I think most of the problems are worked out, I would go on the shop again without a hesitation. The crew was awesome and tried their best.

Hope everyone else on our sailing had fun!

Thanks for the report. I'm glad to hear that your cruise went well. I have your cabin booked for an upcoming cruise. I'm very excited. Do you have any pictures to share? How was the bed? Was it a new mattress?

Report back travelmom as I also have that cabin booked for this Spring.. I would think the Mattress would get a bit broke in by now but it seems they are still holding strong on being firm (Or concrete as some say :-) I will look for you review and Hopefully Photos when you get back.. Thanks Storm for the review and of course if you have photos that would be even better then waiting 2 more months.. Thanks and have a great night.

give me a little while and I will get pics up and online. I have a few from the room. Mattress was firm, but had a pad on it already so we made due. I don't know if it was new or not but it was firm for sure. I slept ok, too tired from long hot days to care. :)
