Rare NorbertsNiece Posted August 25, 2008 #26 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Thank you for making me smile. I so needed this thread!!! I will want a full refund for when my rum runners are confiscated..... I've been reading these boards for weeks now and no-one mentioned that I can't bring my own alcohol on board. browneyes7 Posted August 25, 2008 #27 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Because: 1. There were too many children on board. 2. There were too many old people on board. 3. I cruised during spring break and there were waaaay too many college students on board. 4. There were too many people who weren’t exactly like me on board. 5. I wasn’t allowed to keep my walker/wheelchair/electric scooter in the hallway outside my stateroom. Why should I have to have that stuff taking up space inside my stateroom. 6. My under 16 year old children were not allowed in the adult pool or hot tubs; 7. My “young for his age” 20 year old son was not allowed to hang out in the teen club with the 13/14/15 year olds. 8. My non potty trained child was not allowed in the pool. 9. My “mature for his/her age” 17 year old son/daughter was not allowed to drink alcohol or use the casino even though I said it was okay. 10. My TA told me I “might” get an upgrade and I didn’t. 11. After reading the Cruise Critic upgrade fairy threads I thought everyone always got upgraded from an inside GTY to at least a balcony. 12. I booked a GTY stateroom and when I got on board I hated the location and “they” wouldn’t let me switch staterooms to one I did like. 13. When I got on board I discovered the stateroom I booked was too small. Nobody told me it would be that small. 14. The window in my OV stateroom didn’t open. 15. My inside stateroom was too dark. 16. The crew/staff would not look after my children for me unless I enrolled them in the kids club. After all it’s my vacation too so why should I have to look after my children. 17. I wasn’t allowed to wear whatever I felt like in the main dining room for dinner. After all it’s my vacation so why should I have to dress up. 18. I had to cancel my cruise. And no I didn’t buy travel insurance. I’ve never needed it before so why should I have thought I might need it this time. I just want my money back. 19. I arrived at the port without the correct ID and wasn’t allowed to board the ship. 20. I arrived at the port after check in time and wasn’t allowed to board the ship. 21. The weather was too hot/cold/humid/cloudy/rainy. 22. Because of the weather we missed a port and that port was the whole reason I took that particular cruise. 23. All the food was inedible. I didn’t find one thing I could eat for the entire week that I was on board. 24. But worst of all and this is absolutely unforgivable and I will never ever cruise again - there was no conditioner or lotion provided in my bathroom. After doing my research I have discovered that these are all apparently legitimate reasons for asking for a full refund. Please feel free to add to the list as you see fit. Personally, I am sailing on the Serenade of the Seas to Alaska in September in a GS and I already know that I had a really good time but if I'm not upgraded to captain when I get on board I will be asking for a full refund. Cute!!:D :D
Wisdom Posted August 25, 2008 #28 Share Posted August 25, 2008 I want my money back. I wasn't feeling well and ordered room service. I was told they could not deliver to my room as the Ice Show had to take place on the Ice. I thought RCI would do their best to please everyone.
mckinna Posted August 25, 2008 #29 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Upon boarding the ship I clearly yelled "I've got shotgun". The Captain however, refused to let me sit next to him on the Bridge. I know no one said it before me. I want my money back. LOL!:)
Wisdom Posted August 25, 2008 #30 Share Posted August 25, 2008 If they are going to have a mustard drill, then we should all be given mustard. What if someone runs out of mustard? No one will know how to handle it properly.
sadie8 Posted August 25, 2008 #31 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Also, when I looked out my window there was a big orange lifeboat.

I know no one said it before me. I want my money back. This is too funny! How about that I got drunk and was singing the Beach Boys "Sail on Sailor" at 3:30 in the morning on my balcony and the people on either side of me called and complained and I had to come inside and quiet down and couldn't fully use my balcony that I paid really good money for. This is so sad. Why pay the money for a cabin with a balcony if you can't scream when you want to? Sheesh, next thing you know they'll tell you your not allowed to add chocolate pudding mix in the hot tub. They sure are getting strict. And when I get off my suspension for drawing a mustache on the Captain (he looked more distinguished that way), I'll take that up with them. Wisdom Posted August 25, 2008 #37 Share Posted August 25, 2008 RCI should have someone follow you around in case you drop something. You know, like if you drop your room key or spouse. I thought this was a first class operation.
Wisdom Posted August 25, 2008 #38 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Ok...get this. I ordered and ate a chocolate ice cream cone at Ben & Jerry's. I didn't like it one bit. So when I ordered a second chocolate ice cream cone, they refused to give me my money back. They said I shouldn't have ordered the second one. I said "Hey, I'm new to cruising" Oh, and the waiters should know when you are no longer hungry.

Cruisenouvelle Posted August 25, 2008 #43 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Too funny !! Sad to say, I've seen more than one of those in some posts complaining about the awful cruise... Thanks for the smile! :)
tootts Posted August 25, 2008 #44 Share Posted August 25, 2008 I expect a full refund because: I received a bill at the end of the cruise for ALL of the alcohol consumed - I was told everything was included on a cruise!!!! Great thread - one of the best I've read in a long time - thanks :D
ehfl Posted August 26, 2008 #45 Share Posted August 26, 2008 How about: I overslept, missed my flight, and missed the ship. Forgot to get travel insurance, so they should refund my cost.
WishIwerethere Posted August 26, 2008 #46 Share Posted August 26, 2008 I lost my appetite from seeing people who should NOT wear speedos, and couldn't eat 5 full meals that night.
SeaBaby Posted August 26, 2008 #47 Share Posted August 26, 2008 The cabin steward down the hall didn't say good morning. The ship docked starboard side - I chose a cabin on the port side so I could see the dock. The captain should have 'parked' it the other way! I didn't win Bingo. I didn't win Trivial Pursuit. I didn't win Murder Mystery. Give me something. I'm Diamond. ;) SeaBaby
honeywell Posted August 26, 2008 #48 Share Posted August 26, 2008 ...because the behavior (and self control when it comes to not spending money on board) of other passengers is going to jeopardize the value of my RCCL stock! and...Actually read this one TODAY!... because..."some KID dropped their tray of food and I got food on my sandal!" cruzr4vr Posted August 26, 2008 #49 Share Posted August 26, 2008 I brought liquor with me and they refused to let me take it to my cabin to drink. Actually told me they would deliver to me the night before we got off the ship. The guy in the balcony below me was smoking a cigar. I think I definitely deserve a full refund for that one!! nanfromatlanta Posted August 26, 2008 #50 Share Posted August 26, 2008 My young kids were not allowed in the solarium. I know that there are signs posted, however, we all paid for this cruise and all of us should have full run of the ship. As a matter of fact, I don't understand why my non-potty trained child could not use the pools. Geez, what kind of cruise line is this???? :D :D
