back to back cruise

We just returned Monday from a 22 day back to back on the Serenade to Hawaii. We do b2b's a lot. We look for repositioning cruises with different itineraries for each cruise. The repo's are usually less expensive. Book the same cabin for both cruises if possible. You will not have to pack between cruises and it is usually just a matter of getting a new seapass card and walking through customs/immigration.

On our last b2b we got a free upgrade to a GS and a nice luncheon in Chops.

We have done many a back to back, but only if we can stay in the same cabin. I choose the one I want and find out if it is available. If not, I go to my second choice and so on until I have a cabin for the two cruises.

You do have to check in again after the first week, but RCCL will let you know how and where it is done. They usually escort you off the ship and back on after the other passengers are all cleared. Your clothes stay in the cabin and you can either go ashore after checking in again, or stay on the ship. It all depends on the port.Unless things have changed, RCCL takes you off and right back on by an officer. All the people who are staying on are told to meet in a certain place on the ship. They will come and get you and escort you off and on again. It only takes a matter of minutes and is well organized.

As for the menu's being the same for the two weeks, there are so many choices on it that you can choose a different meal in week two. There is the possibility that you will see the same shows and things, but often there is a change in the solo performers.

There is no discount, but you will be given different little things to eat and drink in your cabin on the second week as a thank you. (chocolate covered strawberries, bottle of wine, cheeses, and etc.)

You can consider needing only one flight for the both cruises if you fly to the port.
