cruisin'since'75 Posted August 28, 2008 #26 Share Posted August 28, 2008 about 2 years ago we saw an elderly lady on the GLORY- she had been on it for about 6 weeks....she said it was cheaper than a retirement home- she woke up in a beautiful port almost every day and met lots of nice people :) Oh YES! I want this woman's life, for sure. I tell everyone younger than myself that when it gets to be "time", this is what I want to do; spend my waning years on a cruise ship, not at a stagnant nursing home! Good for her! :)
janisutx Posted August 28, 2008 #27 Share Posted August 28, 2008 You'll have a wonderful time on a TA cruise. I booked the 2006 Carnival Liberty TA on to celebrate my 60th birthday as a solo cruiser. Our roll call was very active since we had to plan our tours in Europe. I ended up meeting a wonderful man on the roll call. We discovered we live 20 minutes apart and arranged to meet at Starbucks. We've had two fun years together. By the way, I still haven't cruised solo. You'll love Carnival's friendly passengers.
ladycaveat Posted August 28, 2008 #28 Share Posted August 28, 2008 I'm older than dinosaur dookie' date=' and I've taken two CC group cruises since I became single again and had more fun on them than I did on any of my other cruises. I could do anything I wanted, when I wanted, and could either be by myself in a quiet corner reading or napping, or I could close down the casino and disco at 3 a.m. and then go to the pizza bar for a nitecap and snack. The fact that I have four more group cruises booked is a testimonial to how much I love them. If you are active on the rollcall boards, by the time you actually cruise, you'll feel like you're sailing with a very welcoming and accepting extended family. :)[/quote'] Allen, you crack me up . . . what in the heck is dinosaur dookie? No . . . . don't tell me . . . let my imagination run wild . . . . :D
