flvol77 Posted August 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2008 I doubt any one from the Caymans is reading this but if you guys are you are in our thougths and prayers. I see the pressure on Gustav is down to 975 (that is 13 mb since about three hours ago) and the HH plane hasn't even flown out of the Hurricane yet. I feel bad as GC was starting to get but to normal after Ivan the terrible, this will not be as bad as Ivan but it will be serious. Hope everyone stays safe. Take care
drew sailbum Posted August 30, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2008 Hurricane Gustav has clearerd the Cayman area. There are a few trees, power poles, and power lines down in Grand Cayman, but few indications of serious damage. A full assessment will take some time. GC avoided disaster by 12 hours - Gustav is pounding Cuba with 150 - (from what I haver read from cuban net site) 200 mph gusts - I am very thankful it didn't hit GC with full force because it may have been worse than Ivan. Stay safe and good to hear there was no serious damage.
