ging466 Posted August 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2008 Hi Silversea Ladies Generally the threads relating to clothing pertain to men and their tuxedos therefore: Could you pls tell me what the ladies generally wear on formal night? I've checked the Silversea website and it says "Appropriate formal evening wear for ladies is an evening gown or cocktail dress" In your experience cruising on Silversea, do the ladies mainly wear gowns? My cruise is Singapore to Sydney in December, weather is hot & humid. Thankx for any help:) Cheers Ging466
RosseauGirl Posted August 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2008 On our last cruise, we had 3 formal nights, and I wore a gown on two of those nights, a cocktail dress on the third. For our upcoming, which has 2 nights, I have a gown and a 'little black' cocktail dress set aside. Most of the ladies wore gowns early in the cruise, and then seemed to gravitate towards cocktail dresses towards the end of the cruise. It also seemed to me that the younger the guest, the shorter the dress - the older ladies always wore gowns and the younger tended to cocktail dresses. Pop-I Posted August 31, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2008 true - the younger (40s, early 50s) wear shorter dresses, older were gowns. i am early 50s - i have a gown, but it is heavy due to sequins, so probably would not take again, but i wear short (knee length) cocktail dresses, some with sequins and skirt suits (satin).
