clandt Posted September 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2008 Which weekend are you going on? From what I was told it is best and a lot more fun to stay in times square and surrounding area if you are going to have some time.

uppitycats Posted September 1, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2008 While Times Square is right in the middle of the action..it also is very costly. We're staying at the Courtyard by Marriott, at 410 E. 92nd street (you can get their complete address and toll-free number if you google Marriott). It's still expensive, but significantly less than Times Square. Cabs from there or Times Square are about the same, and readily available.
rsinj Posted September 1, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2008 We just stayed at the Fairfield Inn at LaGuardia (Astoria) prior to our flight. The price was very good, included shuttle to/from the airport, and included free breakfast. Though not "in" Manhattan, it was walking distance to the subway which will take you right in to the city. They can arrange transportation from the hotel to the pier, or you can do it on your own. I'm partial to public transportation, so you'd see me lugging the bags on to the subway and then taking a taxi once in the city. Howard
crew mom Posted September 1, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2008 Stayed at the Cosmopolitan in Tribecca. Small rooms but the price was good for NYC. It's right on the subway line. If you stay in the city you can at least enjoy one evening there and see a few of the major buildings.
Gingee Posted September 2, 2008 #7 Share Posted September 2, 2008 We just stayed at Radio City apartments. It was great. Supposedly cheap compared to other Manhatten places. Just around the corner to all the action. Very nice people there.
