I booked a 6A OV GUAR on the Carnival Glory for May 2009. Today, I discovered that for the same price, I can get a 6C OV cabin. Or, for $40 less per person, I could book a 5A OV GUAR.

What would you choose? If I stick with the 6A GUAR, I could get a 6A or 6B, or I could get something better than a 6C.

If I go with the 6C, then there's no "lottery surprise" that is sort of fun when you find out the upgrade fairy came to see you, but then it's a 6C sure thing.

If I go with a 5A OV GUAR, it's cheaper, but I could be stuck with a porthole room or a 6A or 6B.

I should mention that hubby and I will be sailing with our daughter, who will be 3 years old by then. My mom is also sailing, but she has an IS GUAR.
