Thanks to Steve and Jenny's wonderful pictures and great review. We will be on Elation on September 15 and we are very interested in taking the snorkling in Cabos. From your photos, it seems like that the water was not that deep for snorkling. Is that true ? Since I don't know how to swim,I had a great time at Half Moon Cay for snorkling because the water was shallow enough for me to stand and snorkle and I did see a lot of beautiful fish too .

Would you please let me know where you went snorkling. Thanks !!!

Thx soooooo much, we are staying in an interior cabin on the Upper Deck, which we might regret. This cruise was added late, as we were going to be in San Diego on a biz trip & twice before when we were there we would say, "gee, we should take a cruise out of S.D."-this time it worked out. We have been on a lot of the same cruise ships as you have. Just out of curiousity - did you like the Legend better then her sister ship, Miracle? We did, we felt the crew, food just whole feeling was much more outstanding.

when are u guys go'n on ur cruise? i'll be on the elation 9-15, celebrating my birthday. and i can't wait!

WOW, great info and greast pics! We're on the Elation on Oct 13. We'll be flying to San Diego two weeks earlier for BF's daughter's wedding. I'm so excited about getting on the ship that Monday! PLEASE! PLEASE! We're coming from Fort Myers, Florida. I don't want to see ANY STORMS in Cabo or Ensenada!! But, if we do, I won't be complaining. As we've heard from so many others, it's THAT time of the year! If we get rain, I'll be the "50-something" blond sitting in the casino all day!! Safe sailing to you all!

Sunny--U41 on the Elation!

So those who are headed to Cabo between now and early February, enjoy! The Cruise Director said they are definitely doing away with Cabo leaving from San Diego starting in early February.

We are booked for the five day cruise in July of 2009 (Elation - Cabo and Ensenada). What is this you mentioned about doing away with Cabo

Thanks for the info - expecially about the hair dryer ! - Hey- just noticed that you are in Tucson - we are in Green Valley !

Hi Neighbor !

There are not that many Arizona travelers that post here - just one that I know of in Glendale.....

You will have to check out the cruisecritic "Arizona Cruisers" thread. Tons of us from Arizona with get togethers too. check it out http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=420611. Don't read from the beginning though - it will take you forever to read all 300 pages.

Yeah I had booked the 5 day Elation Feb 21st 09 departure and found out thru my TA that they changed the itinerary. I had planned on taking my kids on their first cruise and was going to have them swim with dolphins in Cabo. Catalina Island wasn't an option for me. I ended up having to rebook a 7 day out of Long Beach on the Pride. We had 2 cabins (OV & 4C) on the Elation and had to get a quad for all 4 of us in one cabin on the Pride and had to pay an extra $500 too. Not a happy camper. I considered NCL Star as it was $300 cheaper than CCL but a quad on NCL would be way too crowded. Carnival offers much larger cabins. All we got was a $50 credit for rebooking. Really bites.

Glad I spotted the Cabo cancellation. Wonder when they would have contacted me? Like you I'm not a happy camper. This cruise was special in that we were taking the kids and grandkids. We'll also probably take the seven day out of Long Beach over the same time frame. Considering that I'm paying for ten people it's going to cost a wee bit more but still under the original budget. I do like the seven day itinerary better. Think I'll have to let it settle in a bit before I cancel and rebook. Probably tomorrow.
