Discount Books for Onboard Services

Newbie question: Do you think it's advisable to buy a Platinum or Gold discount book second-hand from ebay? Looks like some are limited to certain ships, which I'll nail down before purchase (we're sailing Liberty), but wondered if those of you who earn the books find them valuable, and also if they are indeed transferable. Many thanks!

The books are handy depending on your specific likes. I used the casino coupon, the drink coupon and the picture coupon. I do not know if you can use them without being a member. I know that we did not use the logo shop coupon or wine coupon. So again, it dpends on your taste. I do look forward to moving up to the next level and checking out their coupons.

It could be a risky purchase... Each time we redeemed our coupons, they asked for our Sea Pass card and wrote down our folio number...

 

When we tried to give our cousin (not a C&A member) our Ben & Jerry's coupon, she couldnt' use it....

I wouldnt buy one, simply ask if someone has an unused one they want to donate to you. I gave my unused book away to a fellow cc'er, we exchanged e-mails and I sent it to here via the postal service. She sent me a thank you e-mail and that was it. Some may find this objectionable, to me it's like exchanging retail coupons, they generate money for the cruiseline either way.
