Are tours still going to Rum Point?

I read in another post that Rum Point was damaged by Gustav. I was wondering if anyone who has the Sting Ray,Reef and Rum Point tour scheduled

could tell me if they are still going to Rum Point?

I saw some pictures on another site of Rum Point, and I can't imagine they're open for business yet. I could be wrong, but it was a pretty big mess.

 

Maybe Drew will see this thread and respond. He lives there, so I am sure he'd know if RP is open, and if not, when it might open.

Rum Point is open for business. Crews spent some time shoveling sand and cleaning up vegetation. THere was no significant damage to the buildings.

 

However, the dock is "not usable" according to some of the staff there. The decking washed out and may take some time to replace. The cement piers and horizontal supports are intact.

 

You can search YouTube for video by the local television station. Use search terms Rum Point and Gustav.
