Scuba diving in Belize

Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for diving operators in Belize? In addition, which diving site should we go to? My wife and I are going to be there in October and we really want to dive there?

We too are going to Belize in October. I am an experienced diver but my friend I am traveling with has only done 8 or so dives. I have seen a number of dive sites referenced -- any recommendations on that front in addition to operators??

We are not going until March but I've been reading about diving in Belize and from what I've read, the only practical way is to dive thru the ship. It may depend on your port times. They apparently pick you up directly from the ship, take you on a boat to the dive shop and then out for the dives. It's an hour each way on the boat, 2 dives and a surface interval. So it's about 5 hours total. Hugh Parkey's is the operator I've seen mentioned the most and they say the bottom time is limited. You can find their website if you google them.
