table for 2 question

Has anyone ever asked for a table for 2 and been denied? There always seems to be so many empty tables for 2 and I for one had no problem. Did I just get lucky?

I did...on Royal Caribbean. And i was the first person in line when the Maitre D opened. Never had it happen on Carnival.

On the Liberty we waited in line for the Maitre D and got a table for 2 no prob. yet still our waiter waited for the surrounding tables to fill before serving us:mad: trust me, it was discussed and affected his tip! Mid way our 8 day, we opted for the buffets, I think the rubbery lobster was the last straw:eek:

Once, they couldn't accommodate us for the first night, but said they'd try their best for the rest of the cruise, and the next day we got a card in our cabin with our two-top assignment.

Last year after we boarded we went to the dining room and requested a table for 2 and we got it.
