Avril Posted September 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2008 I'm just wondering how this works. I've done it in Long Beach for the Pride but nowhere else. I'm sailing on the Freedom in May 2009 with my Aunt (who will be a 1st time cruiser) and my Mom. As there are 3 of us in the same cabin, we decided to book a category 11 suite for the extra room (and the bigger balcony). We're so excited!! :D
CWcruisers Posted September 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2008 You cruise docs will have VIP check in on them and when you get to the port, after you go through security, you will be directed to another area where they take care of the VIP's and the suite people. What you hope for is that there is a big long embarkation line and you get to pass right by it.
popcorngal Posted September 6, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2008 We've boarded in FLL quite a few times, and it's never been the same way twice. Sometimes it's not even the same terminal. Just all depends on which berth the ship's in. Best bet is to just keep asking the Carnival staff for the VIP line and they will point you in the right direction. It's awfully nice to buzz past the regular line!
Avril Posted September 7, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted September 7, 2008 Thanks!! :D Mom and I have been VIPs once before (we were upgraded to a suite) but that was in Long Beach on the Carnival Pride. We're so excited to be doing it again!! :D We're planning on getting to the cruise terminnal at around 10-10:30am so I doubt there will be a big huge line that we'll get to speed passed. :( Not even in the same terminnal? How did that work? That must have been a big pain in the you-know-where!!

It's awfully nice to buzz past the regular line! I have found this also. Once they let VIP pre check in and than they took security away for awhile. Than they let us all that had "pre checked" go thru. It was really wierd and different from all other times.
