Weather for Bahamas--3rd week of Jan

I hate the cold winters here in the Northeast, so my sister (who fortunately lives in a warmer climate) has suggested we meet in January for a short warm-weather respite for me.

I was thinking we might do one of the 3-or-4 day RCCL cruises to the Bahamas. The ports of call would be Nassau, the private island and Key West (if we do the 4-day cruise).

Will it be warm enough during the 3rd week of January to go to the beach or comfortably sit by the pool on one of these cruises? [Yes, I'd love to take a longer cruise further south, but I can't leave my teenage son too long with my husband. There's got to be SOME parental supervision. :-) ]

Go to www.weather.com and type in Nassau, Bahamas and you will see a link to monthly temperature averages

Some years back I cruised in January and the ports were Key West and Nassau. Key West was plenty hot-- it's hot there all year round-- but Nassau was a tad cooler. It was around 80, though, which is still warm enough to enjoy... without being overly hot, like it is in the summer.

Being a native Floridian, I will not go in the water in jan in nassau ever again. It was freezing to me, however a friend I was with is from Michigan and she said the water was great.

The overall weather was fantastic though, between 70-80 all day and sunny too, I had a great beach day buit I never did get farther than my big toe into the water.
