Dikili Turkey

Not a lot to do there. It is a beach resort town for Turks with a fair sprinkling of foreigners (often on package tours). The major site in the area is Bergama (the ancient Pergamum).

Pergamum ihas quite a bit of interest including its Acropolis and Asklepion (an ancient medical center including the world's oldest known psychiatric facility). Quite interesting, actually. So, if it were me, I'd skip the town and head to Pergamum one way or another. Of course, the best stuff ain't there any more. It is in the Pergammon Museum in Berlin (which is certainly worth the time nx time you find yourself in eastern Germany).
