Middleager Posted September 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2008 If taking a back to back cruise on the same ship. E.g. Imagination Aug. 28/09 Bahamas, followed by Aug. 31 W Caribbean; or Destiny Aug. 24/09 E Caribbean followed by Aug. 29 W. Caribbean. Do you have to get off the ship, and re-check in, in-between? Is there any pricing discount for doing the B2B, or is it the same as buying two separate cruises? This is of course assuming getting the same cabin category. justhanging Posted September 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2008 No price break for b2b. Didn't have to get off on my b2b. It really depends on the ship and the port if you have to get off. Didn't even go through immigration.
GOTTA CRUISE NOW Posted September 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2008 For our Imagination B2B, we went to the Purser's desk where they issued our new S&S cards. We then waited until everyone else was off the ship, then they walked us off the ship & right back on after taking us through customs. Done! DarthGrady Posted September 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2008 We stayed on the ship the entire time last week on Inspiration. They had us go through customs with the non-citizens in the disco that morning. Then they just gave us new cards and set up our accounts at about 11:30. It seems that different ports and ships have unique systems, so your experience may vary. In any case, try to get the same room for both trips. It makes things easier since you won't have to pack up and move between cruises.
JanesCruisingBuddy Posted September 11, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2008 We did B2B on the Glory out of Port Canaveral back in the spring. We did have to leave the ship to clear customs and immigration. It was Mark Price's (CD) first week back on the Glory, and I think he messed things up a bit in calling us (the B2B's). It ended up being a bit of a fiasco... if interested in more detail, you can read about it on my B2B review (see link below).
Middleager Posted September 12, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted September 12, 2008 Thanks everyone for your help. So if lucky we can stay on the ship, but not guaranteed. We are Canadian, so the custom clearance rule may also be different. It's too bad they don't give additional discount. If they do, people may be more likely to bok the second cruise. True, but the real discount for us as fellow Canadians is that, to get in two cruises, we only have to fly once, thus a tremendous travel cost savings! (Customs/immigration did not treat us any different than they did our fellow American B2B'ers.)
