What pier does AOS use? Is it near anything if we want to get off once we check in?

We haven't gone yet but will real soon--AOS is at the PanAm Pier--& no there isn't anything around it..it is more like a working pier--so to go off & get a taxi to go over to Old San Juan for the other piers. Although I gather we need to be back on the ship in time to do muster (life jackets)

Following is a map of San Juan which includes the Pan Am Pier from which the AOS sails. You will need to get a taxi to take you back into downtown San Juan.

This will give you an idea of location

Head into Old San Juan with a taxi - rate is fixed and should be about $13.50

Plenty to see in Old San Juan - 2 forts, small cathedral, several museums, several picturesque squares, lots of restaurants, + shops.

The city is not that big and so it's easy to wander around - this might help give you some ideas http://www.visit-the-coqui.com/2008/07/self-guided-walking-tour-of-old-san-juan-part-1/

if you want to try something different, you could do a segway tour of the city

or take a carriage ride

hope that helps you out

Princess normally goes out of Pier 4 which is "downtown" Old San Juan; at least, that is where the Crown left in December on my cruise. But I believe that Carnival has dibs on that pier so that the CB may be tied up at the Panamerican IF there is a Carnival ship leaving from here as well.

Does anyone know if Caribbean Princess docks at Pan American Pier or the Pier in Old San Juan? We would appreciate your information on this.

It used to use the Pier 4 in OSJ, but it seems like starting in November, people state their reservations say Pan Am pier for embarkation.

For docking on day ports, they should still use Pier 4 in Old San Juan.

Check your reservations for exact port info as it seems to be in transition.
