Has anyone paid to upgrade at the pier in a while?

I just noticed that several cabins opened up on my upcoming sailing. I wonder if anyone has been able to pay to upgrade at the pier lately. What kind of prices were you quoted or did you pay?

 

I don't expect a free upgrade, but some more space or even a balcony would be nice.

I asked this question and the answer I got was it may be possible but options can be limited. You're supposed to ask the "pier coordinator" about upgrades available. My cruise is on Sunday and I'll be trying because at last check, the next cabin above me is still available.
