Puntarenas......Aerial Tram?

We will be docking in Puntarenas on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. I am interested in the Aerial Tram but don't want to book a ships tour. Are there any private tour operators that would take us there? Any recommendations?

The tram is quite a distance from the port. On Princess, the tour guide on the bus was actually a guide from the tram. He was outstanding and I couldn't imagine that a private tour could offer anything more.

Hi, we were in Puntarenas last December. I would recommend contacting Turu Ba Ri Tropical Park. They picked us up at the pier and took us to the park (about an hour away) where the two of us had a private tour, rode the tram, went ziplining, and had a great lunch. Our guide was excellent and I felt safe with our driver. It was the best day of our cruise.

Hi Terry, I just contacted them through their website, www.turubari.cr, and told them that I wanted the shore excursion package and the canopy tour. They also have horseback riding, and another "Superman" zipline, that we would probably do if we ever went back!

 

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that we had a private guide. She even went on the zipline with us. The other tour operators I contacted for this port either seemed flaky, or didn't want to waste their time on only two people. And we didn't want to do a ship's tour. This really worked out well for us.
