Tennis court on Gem

Does anybody know if we need to bring our own racquets on board? What about balls? Also is there a fee to use the court? Do you need to reserve in advance?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You need to bring your own balls and racquet. It works on a first come first served basis. I've seen the courts rarely used for tennis but often see the teenagers playing basketball.

I'm sure if your early morning they will all still be sleeping.

Thanks a lot!

I guess most people won't bring recquets and balls to a cruise. That's why it's rarely used.

How wonderful to be able to wake up in the morning and run up a few decks to play tennis! We are paying $26/hr to use the indoor courts in the winter here and it's 40 minutes drive. Hehe, we will defenitely make good use of it.

When I was on the Jewel they had "Tennis Time with your fellow guests 1:00PM to 3:00PM" listed in the Freestyle Daily, but not every day. My DH is a tennis pro, but he wasn't with me on this cruise. I went up there to check out the court in case he's on one of the Jewel class ships in the future. There were people playing basketball & it was really windy, as you can imagine!
