Toiletries on the Z

Surprisingly, no! We had Cat S deluxe suites in November '03 and May '04 and we got a shower cap, soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. No shoeshine cloth, sewing kit or loofah (which we did have on the Norway).

Anything special for the suites?

  • 4 weeks later...
Toiletries provided were minimal...terrible. one bar of soap for entire week! all in one shampoo(yuk), but no conditioner...disappointing compared to other lines., but then I was disappointed with the entire cruise and HAL.

Why didn't you ask for more soap & shampoo? All you had to do was ask your cabin steward. We have never had any problem getting more and also more shower caps.

I'm back from the Prinsendam... Our suite was great. In the bathroom, there were two bottles of liquid body soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion and two bags of bathing salt. On each sink(there were two), three round hand soaps were waiting. Whenever we opened something, it was immedeatly replenished. We also got 2 loofahs, stitchin and amenity kit, a glass box full of cotton swabs and pads.

The toiletries were from a company called "The Thymes" and were eucalyptus-scented. We liked it very much.

While there was no shoeshine clothes (we didn't need them), in the closet a shoeshine brush was provided and there was also a free 4-hour shoeshine service.

So know there will definitely be soap and shampoo. The rest of the "amenities" are hit or miss?

Lisa, on all of the HAL ships we have been on there has been 2 sizes of soap, one for the sink nd one for the shower. A bottle of shampoo/conditioner, a 2oz bottle of lotion and a shower cap. In the suites the bottles are bigger, 4oz, and there are a couple of other things, cotton balls etc. .....jean
