Category X ???

Hi all,

 

DH and booked a last minute cruise on the AOS that leaves in a couple weeks. We decided to give the ole Category X "Guaranteed Balcony" a shot, since it was such a great price. How does that work? I mean, do you not get your stateroom number until you check-in? Any good or bad experiences with it?

Keep looking at your reservation status online; once you are assigned a stateroom it will appear there. Although sometimes you are not assigned a stateroom until boarding, most of the time you will be at least three weeks beforehand (sometimes even sooner). Keep in mind that occasionally your assigned stateroom may change after the initial assignment when booking a guarantee. Guarantees a great way to save a little $$$ and increase your chance of an upgrade, but you do give up the flexibility of choosing your own stateroom and may end up with an undesireable location (i.e. all the way forward, underneath a bar/lounge or restaurant etc.).
