CRAZY! We just got a free 7 day cruise based on a eight year old class action lawsuit

This is so weird. Just received in the mail today, we will receive four free 7 day cruise vouchers (on any US itinerary on Carnivals fleet, ocean view cabin) because of a lawsuit that occurred from our Millennium Cruise ,December 26th, 1999 on the Carnival Paradise. This issue was that we missed three ports of call (which were replaced by two different ports of call) due to an engine failure. No big deal, we had a great time anyways.

Did not think it would turn in our favor almost nine years later. Did not even know a lawsuit was ever filed. The vouchers have very few restrictions, must depart from US, no Christmas or New-Years, and thats pretty much it. Very excited about this free cruise! Its worth almost about $4000 if we sail next summer.

Ironically we have not sailed Carnival since this cruise, although we have been on eight Royal Carribean cruises. Looking foward to reexperincing Carnival as it gave us the cruising bug.

Can't imagine what this cost Carnival. As a result of the settlement they have to offer all passengers on board this free cruise and pay 1.75 million in lawyer fees.
