Just Back (AOS)...It Was Great!!

Just a quick posting to say we just returned from the AOS Southern Caribbean sailing 9-21 thru 9-28.

I will post a review in a few days but wanted to say that this was nothing like I had expected--it was absolutely fabulous!! This was my first cruise and my DW had cruised only on smaller ships & river barges. My DD was the family veteran with one cruise on another line last year.

The weather could have been better at times (the San Juan-->Aruba passage was interesting :D) but all in all, everything turned out to be a real pleasure. I took quite a few pictures and still have to go though and cull out the bad ones. Then I will resize them to post on a sharing site and to include some in my review.

I want to apologize to fellow CC members on our sailing...I was unable to make the meet & mingle because there was just so much to see and do and getting ready for formal night first seating & then pictures just ate all the time (& more!). I will try to be better next time! I hope many of the people made it and that it was a successful & happy meeting.

More later for sure. I want to take some time with the review because I want to put it in a format & use a style that will be as helpful as possible to first-time cruisers. I know we had many, many questions (and some concerns which were not necessary ;)) and I'd like to help address some of those for other first-timers.

Cheers!

We were also on this cruise...although we didn't think the San Juan/Aruba was rough...but we like the motion. :-)

The food in the dining room was some of the best we have ever had on a cruise! Just loved the ship and it was in fantastic shape. The only thing I noticed was a little problem in some of the public area restrooms...nothing major, just a few "issues".

We were really looking forward to Beatlemania since we had seen a similar group "Rain" on another ship and really enjoyed it. The volume was so loud that the sound was distorted and hurt our ears. We tried moving back, ended up leaving after a couple of songs. Too bad. When we finally left and looked back at the theater doors we thought the crowd leaving looked like the show was over...there were so many people leaving. Later we ran into several people that really enjoyed the show...go figure!

We loved the Kruise Komics on the Voyager and were sad to see they were part of the budget cuts...missed seeing them around the ship.

Overall, this was a fantastic cruise! I just wish the port of San Juan was closer to Phoenix.

Thanks Blaster! Looking forward to reading your full review, as we sail AOS in about 3 weeks. We've done this particular cruise in 2006 and have always contended it was the most relaxing cruise we have taken.

The trip to San Juan isn't fun, but well worth the cruise!

DH and I were also on this cruise. (09/21 - 09/28)

Room 1388 was AWESOME. HUGE room, HUGE balcony. HUGE view!!

This staff is the best. The food great. Entertainment was wonderful. Ship is beautiful. Casino had some BIG winners!! Best drinks on the sea (albeit, prices high).

People on board were extremely friendly. NO rude people to be seen or heard.

All I can say is...THIS CRUISE WAS PERFECT!!!!!!!!!
