superfind Posted October 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2008 Hi, we're sailing on Independence of the Seas in October and apparently our stateroom has a DVD player. My question is does anyone know if its region coded. We were thinking of taking some DVDs for the kids but they are UK region 2 discs and the ship, being American, might have a US region 1 DVD player. Any ideas? cavkc Posted October 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2008 We have the same problem, however unfortunately all the DVD's take are US Region 1. Why don't you order some second hand ones on Ebay before you go?
wrp96 Posted October 1, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2008 If your room has a DVD player, you should have access to the concierge lounge. They should have a selection of DVDs for you to borrow.

skisteamboat Posted October 3, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 3, 2008 Portable DVD players are pretty cheap, <$75. You could buy one and not have to worry. Cheers
AllieInMD Posted October 3, 2008 #7 Share Posted October 3, 2008 Or - if you are taking a laptop anyway - dvd's usually play on those. Portable DVD players are pretty cheap, <$75. You could buy one and not have to worry. Cheers
