Boston/NY to Bermuda (NCL) w/ child under 2

We are planning our first family cruise. I've cruised 5 times before so I'm familiar with cruising...

We are thinking of taking either the NCL from Boston or NY to Bermuda... 7 nights (either the Dawn or Spirit).

It will be just before our daughter's 2nd birthday...

Can anyone tell me about the children's playrooms? Are we allowed to visit the room as a family or is it only for children above 2 years old? I'd like to know what "family" activities we can do with her on board since she will not be allowed in the pool...

Any advice is VERY much appreciated!

Thanks!

:)

This is directly from NCL's website. As you can see, no exceptions made for those not yet 2.

Specifics & Restrictions

A few things you need to know before the good times begin:

The Youth Facilities are an Adult Free Zone during Port Play, Program and Late Night Fun Zone hours.

A parent or guardian is required to register kids ages 2-17. After registering, kids can participate as often as they choose.

Your child will be assigned to an age group based on his/her age at sailing. If they have a birthday while at sea, only then they are moved up. The minimum age is 2 years old. Sorry, no exceptions can be made-this helps keep your child safe.

We were on the Dawn to Bermuda from NYC when our son was 13 months old. They always had at least 1 room set up with toys and books for children under 2, where you can go in with your child- there was no supervision or staff. It was listed in the daily planner thing, although they kept moving it and it was hard to find (it was always in a conference room, not in the childrens' zone)- I asked at the front desk and they always found it for me. It was always empty or almost empty, even though there were other toddlers on the ship- probably because it was hard to find. We played in there every day, but not for long. Mainly he just loved exploring the ship- he was a new walker and it was very exciting for him. Even with a 22 or 23 month old, I imagine just exploring the ship would be fun for them, and maybe there will be other children about that age roaming around and they can play together (there were a few on our trip).

Anyway, we had a great time (it was the baby's 3rd cruise, but the first without grandparents), and Bermuda's buses were a great form of transportation, as long as you had a foldable umbrella stroller.
