Twomalamutes Posted October 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2008 Skagway Fishing Charter Recommendations? We have decided we would like to go fishing in Skagway. I have found several on the internet, but was looking for anyone who had fish hand experience. We have been to Alaska 2 times before and done the "big excursions". Thought we might try fishing this time. Thanks.
Yukon Posted October 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2008 Skagway is probably the worst port to go fishing at. While there are occasionally salmon close by, usually the boats have to run to at least Haines and more often Icy Strait to find fish.

My husband and uncle booked a half day fishing trip with Magnum Charters and came back with 3 salmon. The fishing trip through the cruise ship pretty much caught ziltch..:) They also had the fish processed and shipped to us..It was beautifully done with no bones.. Twomalamutes Posted October 5, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted October 5, 2008 If you don't mind me asking what was the cost to have the fish processed and shipped?
kellywhitehills Posted October 5, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2008 If you don't mind me asking what was the cost to have the fish processed and shipped? The fish dressed out at 20 pounds and it was just over 100 bucks...The salmon was flash frozen and vaccumed sealed in 1-2 pound pieces...
