Babygirl5408 Posted October 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2008 Hello Everyone, I was looking for some information regarding the casino at sea discount. How does it work? I know someone said you need to fax them a copy of a casino card, such as Harrah's for example, and then you get a discount. Does it have to be my card or can it be my grandmother's since she is the one buying the cruise for us? Does the discount depend on how much you gamble or is just having a card sufficient? Any and all other information would be really helpful. Thank you SO much! Renee :)

You call the casino at seas phone number - listed on the website and they look up your account - at least with us they did and your discount depends on your play. This was out experience. The info is here (be sure to read the fine print): https://www.harrahs.com/NCL/ After you cruise on NCL, Casinos at Sea will price your next cruise according to what you spent gambling on your previous cruise. Most NCL gamblers receive about 17-18% discount through CAS. At the time of booking thru CAS, ask them to look up your gambling records because you may get more than a 17% discount. cruisegal98 Posted October 4, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 4, 2008 I signed up in August for a Casino Card do I use the same card when I cruise next week? I redeemed 25 points but I still have about 12 points can I redeem them on this cruise? It is a 1 night cruise?
wikiwikiwa Posted October 4, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2008 I booked mine with my Harrah's card, got 20% off for diamond, and didn't get an inside room, which is what that fine print said. I think I got a fairly good price for my cruise, but I didn't qualify for any NCL discounts. If someone else is booking it you may have a problem. I doubt they will let you have the discount unless she is on the cruise with you. If you wait long enough b4 you sail, you can probably get the same price, as these fares seem to keep dropping as the cruise approaches. With that, you will have to be flexible as the cruise you want may sell out. In this economy, I would wait until the last minute if it works for you with work and then get your best deal. You should be able to cash in your old points as long as the last ship you were on used the automatic card readers. Just ask one of the casino staff to transfer your points, you just need to tell them what ship you were on. I usually bring my old card anyway, just in case. Also to the OP. Only the CAS or Harrah's member can get the discount and only if they are sailing. We wanted to book 2 cabins and CAS said that we could only get the discount for the cabin we were in, not one that we were booking for our grown children. I guess we could have booked myself and DH into two cabins and put one kid with each of us, but the kids ended up not going so it worked out. It is a 1 night cruise? if on the same ship with 12 months? then the should have a record of it. if on a different ship, they use different card numbers...you have to let them know to combine the points. (i think) the points are only good for a year? i have been lucky enough to use ALL of my points.

EileenN Posted October 4, 2008 #10 Share Posted October 4, 2008 If you have remaining points on the CAS card after the cruise, be sure to notify the hostess the date of that cruise and which ship on the beginning of the next cruise. Sometimes it takes a few days to transfer the credits over to the present account. The hostess also said the office is closed on weekends and unable to get the records. It doesn't hurt to remind them a few days later.
BellaBaci4 Posted October 4, 2008 #11 Share Posted October 4, 2008 Is there any way to find out your point balance? I never inquired. My last cruise was in June, and we sail again in 3 weeks. Thanks, Bella
TVLady3 Posted October 5, 2008 #12 Share Posted October 5, 2008 You can only check your point balance when you board the ship. Go to the casino, fill out a new application and tell them to check your points from your last cruise, and they will transfer them. After a day our 2 then you will know.
