Back from Sensation

I didn't get to see too much information posted on Sensation so I thought I should put something here as I have just returned from the 4 night Bahamas Cruise.

We had a great time on the Sensation, food was great, I never felt crowded on the Lido or anywhere else for that matter. There is lots of activities on board and the food is always available.

About the dinning rooms, Lobster is still served (although small) so order the prime rib as well if you want. Capacino's and Expresso are not charged extra as some people thought.

Yes the colours and the decor are like a Atlantic City casino but from what I hear and saw so are all the other Carnival ships. They have the same interior designer for all of their ships I would say.

In Freeport, we went to Lucaya Beach and the market and Nassau was Atlantis. Both beaches were great, and the grounds of Atlantis were something to see and take in. We went to the straw market and Senor Frogs in Nassau, the market can make you claustrophobic and the drinks aren't cheap at S.F.'s, some are actually cheaper on the ship.

All in all, a great quick get away, great value for the price ($220pp) and would probably go on her again.

Any questions, let me know, I will try to respond asap.

We sailed on her our first cruise (2004?) and are booked again on Christmas day. Looking forward to seeing how she has faired.

Was there any excursions that you heard about that you now wish you had taken?

We have a diverse family group booked and it looks like we may have 3 more members joining us. If so, we will range from 15 to 50. We will be off on our own when in port, but I do want to be able to share different options with the others.

Yes, thank you for your review. I agree there is not alot of info for the Sensation, and this will be our 1st time sailing with Carnival. But it is what you make of it, so I'm sure we will enjoy it.;)

About Excursions, a couple at our table did the Kayaking in Freeport and they really enjoyed it. A lot of birds, fish and wildlife along with some history. They said they would sleep well that night. As for Nassau, the dolphin encounter was suppose to be really good at Atlantis. We did the swim with dolphins in Xcaret Mexico a few years ago so did not need to do again although it was very cool. I understand it is expensive but well worth the money to get up close to the dolphins.

We took a cab to Lucaya Beach and actually used the washroom/changeroom at the Westin near the two pools. I think the beach chairs can be rented for $10. It wasn't busy and nobody seemed to mind. There are a bunch of restaurants and bars there. We went to the Market for drinks, I think the place was Sparkys or something similar. Fun people watching.
