Dolphin Encounter

We were just there and I just wanted to clarify the fees a little bit. Anyone going into the park has to pay an admission fee of $16.00 (if you book a dolphin swim, it is included). Anyone who has paid that can watch the whole dolphin swim area, as well as take pictures and video, however they will not be able to get very close. You can pay an additional $5.00 to go out on the pier to be right up close watching your family member swim with the dolphins, however you cannot take cameras with you.

That being said, we had a great time doing the royal swim. My daughter was in heaven the whole time! We thought we would leave right after, but the whole park is absolutely beautiful so we spent the day there and swam and snorkeled. It was an awesome day!

Remember when you are booking, to check on time differences. We were on Liberty of the Seas and ship time was an hour ahead of Cozumel time. So we got to Cozumel at 10:00 (ship time) and had booked our tour for 11:00. But we were actually at the park by 9:45 (local time) so they were able to get us in the earlier 10:00 tour which worked out great because it gave us so much more time after. Does this make sense?

Yeah, at Chankanaab, you definitely cannot get close enough to get good pictures unless you have an incredible camera. The ones in my above post were purchased. There were 7 of us in our family that did this and they put together a package deal for us. It was $30.00 a person and we each got 4 pictures and 1 DVD to share.
