pocoehonda Posted October 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2008 Just called my TA and asked if the price of the cruise had gone down since I booked. He said it had. 69.00 per person credit. He said that they usually put it back on credit card.? Is this normal? I don't care personally. However, I prefer that it was an OBC so I wont spend it before Nov. Country_Gal Posted October 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2008 My PVP told me that up to final payment date (75 days out) it would be a credit on my credit card and after that it is OBC.
DqALEX Posted October 6, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2008 $69 per person is well worth a phone call.
pocoehonda Posted October 6, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted October 6, 2008 I am paid in full. Leave Nov 6th. I was shocked when he said 69.00 per person. I had never called before. I have been booked since begining of July. Thank you for your replies. I have really learned alot on this forum.:)
Cotton Posted October 6, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 6, 2008 Good for you...enjoy using every penny!:) Yes, if you find a lower price before final payment, they will deduct that amount from your final payment. If you see the lower price after final payment, it should result in an OBC.
CaliforniaDreamer Posted October 6, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 6, 2008 I was surprised that Carnival re-fared my booking. I got a credit on my cc instead of an OBC. My cruise was 40 days out and i used an online TA. Price reduction of $42.

mariemorgan Posted October 7, 2008 #8 Share Posted October 7, 2008 they usually only put it back on the credit card if you havent made final payment yet. All other times i've gotten it in OBC.
mamasue Posted October 7, 2008 #9 Share Posted October 7, 2008 Dh and I cruised in September. just through watching prices fall, we got upgraded from inside cabin to balcony on the Lido deck.... and over $120 OBC. It was a great result, and Carnival always honored price drops happily. CARNIVAL ROCKS!!!:)

If you didn't book a guarantee room, and had a room assignment from the date of booking, then your TA is wrong.
pba20493 Posted October 7, 2008 #11 Share Posted October 7, 2008 We were offered an upgrade from 4c to a 5a ( obstructed view looking at life boats ), plus the OBC. Well I took the OBC but just kept the same 4c but changed cabins from 6110 to 6271. The OBC wasnt alot but hey $20pp is still 20pp. That pays for one of us at the Supper Club one night. Chacooe Posted October 7, 2008 #12 Share Posted October 7, 2008 The only people they do not give OBC when the price falls is to people who are crusing as a group, which I don't think is fair, but they have their rules.
