Explorer or the Summit? I need your advice

You asked about Summit and the M-class in general. My wife and I, both in our early 50's, and sister-in-law and her husband, both in their late 40's did two cruuses on the M-class ships. This year we did Summit for 11 nights and last year did Millie for 7. Loved them both. Granted, if your going on a ship for its artwork, Summit is not the place to be but, beyond that I'd do another on on either of them in a heartbeat. If it's fun and lots of activity you want you would be right to go with Explorer. If it's relaxation and pampering go with X.

Not to say the Summit didn't have plenty to do just different stuff. You can't beat the food and service. The shows and entertainment were all good, the ships amenities were great and the general decor pleasing. As far as itineraries that part is up to you. We had a great time in both cases. Cabins, we stayed in a balcony cabin on Vista deck on both trips. Penty of room and very comfortable, and the balcony, I wouldn't do it any other way if you can afford the extra bucks. As for the lounges, they had a variety of music. Yes they had some longhair stuff as well as some up to date. You just have to read your activity sheet in the morning and decide what you want to hear. As for fellow passengers, I'd say they ranged from 30 to 70 with more in the mid range to low range. We hit a European vacation week this year and got more kids than usual but, even with that you never really saw them. As far as crowding, we only saw it at the pool area when we did. It's a big enough ship that it didn't feel crowded anywhere else, even the casino. There was always a smaller group out later and not a lot of partying. Like I said before it depends on what you are looking for. As you notice below when I finally end this, Our next trip is not on Celebrity but, that's because my wife brother and wife asked us to go with them and she is a Princess fan. I'll let you know what I think of that one after that trip if you are interested. After that the 2006 trip will be back to Celebrity if all goes as planned. Hope this helps and sorry to be so long winded. Good luck!
