woodofpine Posted October 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2008 Can any tell me where there is a nice beach that we can go horseback riding?Going on Princess Jan. 19, 2009 and looking for some riding on the beach, shopping, and flea markets. Thanks for any help out there. http://www.antiguanice.com Look up Spring Hill Riding Club. I've not been with them. I communicated and got info. They appear to be a more sophisticted operation oriented toward dressage training (English saddles only). They offer a trail ride (one hour) but the more attractive two hour beach ride involves... well here's an e-mail quote... If you are experienced rider they might be great, but probably less so otherwise. e-mail is ripterr@hotmail.com Thank-you for your inquiry. It is extremely busy here at present so I do encourage you to book ahead to avoid disappointment. I currently still have Friday November 21st available. I do need to ask a few questions before we can make a booking. I need to obta in your heights, weights and riding experience and if you have ridden english style or western. Our horses are all ridden english style. There is a weight limit of 220 pounds to protect the horses. We can offer you a walking trail for 1 hour around the Falmouth village here and down to the beach overlooking English Harbour at a cost of $50 US per rider. For safety reasons we cannot take anymore than two inexperienced riders at any time. Children over ten can ride but in most cases will need to be lead. We offer a 2 hour ride to Rendezous bay for $100 US. This trail goes through difficult terrain requiring a good level of fitness and is only available to advanced riders. You need to have been riding for several years and preferably have had proper riding tuition. For capable and adventurous riders there is the extra option of riding the horses into the water bareback following the trek for a extra charge of $20 US per rider. All trails are paid on the day in cash. Two options for getting here – either a rather expensive taxi US$25 each way, or better organise a tour with a driver, he can wait while you ride and then take you to beautiful and historical English Harbour & Shirley Heights and then back to your resort/boat via scenic Fig Tree Drive throught the rain forest and along the West coast beaches – stopping for lunch and a swim on the way. However there is a cheaper way, you can catch a bu s from the Market to Falmouth (marked English Harbour) ask the driver to stop at Farrell Road, and then another 7 minutes walk through the banana and coconut trees to the stables. A very easy walk, you can’t get lost. The bus charges about US$2 each way pp. Safe and friendly and a way of getting to know the islanders. To confirm your booking I will need a credit card number faxed to 268 4601333 or 268 4601081 this is just for us to keep and should you fail to show a 10% deposit will be charged. Should you have any problems please call the stables cell on 268 7733139. Please bring suitable shoes and long pants for your comfort and safety when riding. Helmets will be supplied and don't forget your camera.
