Making Rum Cake Purchases and Rum Question

If you want to try something that is really good in addition to the Rum Cakes, try "Wild Africa" Cream Rum. It comes in a Fuzzy Leopard Fabric covered bottle. It's great served over crushed ice. At Tortuga's they'll even let you sample it. We always get a couple of bottles of it when in GC. I get mine at Tortugas.

 

As for the rum cakes, Blackbeards is my favorite wth Tortuga coming in 2nd.

The rum cakes freeze well and will keep for a couple of months. My favorite flavors are chocolate, key lime, pina colada. Tortuga always has samples of all the flavors.

Does anyone know if there is an excursion in GC to the rum factory or if not, how far it is from the port? Is it walking distance or do we need to take a cab?

I got mine in the Downtown Area. It was right next to Margaritaville. They do have a Sample Table that you can test the different flavours.
