xxjulzxx Posted October 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2008 Little background before we get started. The purpose of this cruise (like you need a purpose to cruise) was for my brothers wedding. When we docked in St. Thomas he was getting married on Lindquist Beach. There were 14 total in our group. Here we go! Four of us (Bride and Groom to be, myself and my friend Earl) flew out of Nashville 2 days prior to the cruise. On Thursday, we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, a Loews property (I work for Loews Hotels) This was my first time at the property, and I highly recommend it! (Although I am always supposed to say this, it is a very nice property!) We checked into the hotel and immediately went over to City Walk for lunch and happy hour margaritas! =) We stayed over there most of the day, and night and then crashed. The next morning, Friday, we woke up, checked out of the hotel, and headed to the Kennedy Space Center. This was the first time at the museum for all of us. We were here a total of like 6 hours. And while us girls would of rather gone to Sea World, we got out voted with the promise that we could pick whatever we wanted to do that night. If you decide to go here prior to your cruise, don't miss the simulated space shuttle launch.. very cool! After all is said and done, it was a cool experience and we are glad we went. xxjulzxx Posted October 12, 2008 Author #2 Share Posted October 12, 2008 After a long day at the Space center, we decided to head for our hotel. The 2nd night we stayed at the Radisson Resort at the Port. This was our third time here, so we knew how awesome the pool area was! We took a quick nap, and then it was off to the Putt-Putt/Go Karts/ETC place right next door. It was after all the girls choice, but I'm sure the guys did not mind going here! :p They have some weird animal statues out front! HA After we had all the fun we could have over there, we met up with some of our family that had now arrived as well as a lot of folks from our roll call (Shout out to all the Misfits!) at the pool. We went next door and grabbed some pizza and beer and chilled out for the rest of the night at the pool. Then it was off to bed and ready to board the Glory the next morning!! Pretty pond area @ the Rad.

xxjulzxx Posted October 12, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted October 12, 2008 We took the 11:00AM shuttle from the Rad to the port. It was a little behind schedule and there were A LOT of people waiting, but all in all they did a good job handling it. Once we arrived at the port and unloaded our luggage, in to security we went. This was very painless and quick! From the time the shuttle dropped us off to the time we were on board was maybe 15 minutes! The bride had her wedding dress with her, so we snuck off to the cabin (were told we could) and met our room stewards. Sami and Ranil and they were great, right from the start. Once we dropped the dress off, we headed to the Lido deck for a DOD and to get the party started! The muster drill was next and that went off without a hitch. Well, except for the lady that passed out during it. After that was complete and we put our life jackets away it was back to the Lido for the sail away. Silly guys. We went to formal dinner every night, and tonight we met our wait staff. Kadek and Buditah (I think) were awesome! They learned who everyone was the first night and were an absolute joy the whole cruise! We were kind of losers and went to bed early tonight. I think our lack of sleep was finally catching up with us. We all just needed a full 8 hours and we would be set! So we crashed early, excited for Nassau in the morning. xxjulzxx Posted October 13, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted October 13, 2008 We did not plan anything in Nassau, as we had been there several other times. However, I was excited for the straw market and to shop! :D It was a little overcast and looked as if it could rain, so we made this trip short and sweet. I went in, got what I wanted, and got out! All in all, we were off the ship maybe an hour max? As soon as we did the shopping we wanted to do, back to the ship for lunch. Bride and Groom and Grams and her friend went to the zoo. They said it was a lot of fun and they even saw dancing flamingos! Earl did not want to do the whole shopping thing, so he wondered around on his own. He stopped at a church amazed by its beauty and even went in. Then he realized it was Sunday, so he stayed for the service! The Majesty of the Seas was also in port that day. Have to go for dinner, but up next is our first formal night! Stay tuned! :)

xxjulzxx Posted October 13, 2008 Author #12 Share Posted October 13, 2008 I'll try to sneak a few more on while I'm at work! * I just want to add a side note here that the Brides mom was pretty sick for the majority of the cruise. Alot of pax got the bug and were quarantined to their rooms. Luckily, she was able to make it off the boat in St. Thomas to see the wedding, but then quickly had to return because she was so sick. Therefore, unfortunately, we don't have alot of pics with her side of the family. =( Moving on to the first formal night. After returning from Nassau we scouted out the boat trying to find our Titan's game! On The Green was closed cause we were in port, but the TV's were still on. I asked a staff member if we could change it from CNN to the game and they said only when the bar is open? Then we went to the Casino bar and they put football on. Unfortunately, our game was not playing on the stations they got, but we caught highlights and saw that we had won! Go Titans! Then it was off to get ready for formal night. We hit the Captain's cocktail reception and enjoyed the free drinks/apps before dinner. While sitting and enjoying our tasty beverages, Mark I think was his name, came up and asked Shelby and I if he could film us for Carnival TV. Sure! So he sat with us for a bit and asked how come we were the coolest chicks on the boat and things like that. It was fun, and cool to see us on the TV for the rest of the cruise! I don't think the guys were jealous at all! ;) Then we headed to the dining room for dinner. I believe tonight was one of the R rated comedy shows. We went to both of them, and both were funny. The only complaint I had with them was the location. They jam packed everybody into the place they do karaoke and people were having to stand and some folks not even able to get in because it was so crowded. xxjulzxx Posted October 13, 2008 Author #13 Share Posted October 13, 2008 The next day was a Fun Day at Sea. We didn't really do a whole lot. Layed out and played in the pool, ate every 2 hours or so ;) , and pretty much got things ready for the wedding that would be the next day. We brought some champagne to dinner that night to toast the bride and groom for the wedding. Our wait staff was awesome and made sure everyone had pictures of the occasion. Next up, the WEDDING in St. Thomas!!

Mackdogg32 Posted October 13, 2008 #19 Share Posted October 13, 2008 I don't think we ever found the beer pong table, but we did find the blackjack table and it consumed us all week. Unfortunately we weren't the lucky SOB that hit the Royal Flush on Caribbean Stud. We'll have to double up the pong next cruise! :)

Mackdogg32 Posted October 13, 2008 #21 Share Posted October 13, 2008 so where was the beer pong being played?? I'm not sure how we missed it! Also, the head to toe massage in the spa was worth every penny..

Also, the head to toe massage in the spa was worth every penny.. It was kind of up by the slide area. It's a hike from where you get cups! Oh really? We didn't do any of the spa things. Shelby is a massage therapist and hadn't heard alot of good things so we didn't try anything.
Mackdogg32 Posted October 13, 2008 #23 Share Posted October 13, 2008 Well, Erin got one of the slimming treatments that they were pushing and thought it was 100% bogus.. so I could see where some would be disappointed. Needless to say, i'm missing the sun and fun.. 100% useless. Oh and I saw your pics from the Loews Hotel there on the city walk.. pretty sweet eh? It's hard to get back into routine after a long vacation like that! Yeah! That was awesome, we could just walk to City Walk. We had fun over there. Our next trip is to Vegas I think! I have a hotel out there too!
