Does residency rate specials count towards price drop...................

Recommended Posts

Where/How do you find out about residency rates?

go to the RCCL website and pretend book your cruise with the same category and make sure you check off the boxes for 55+ and military if they apply and also the drop down box for which state you are in. If anything applies when you get to the room categories there will be two prices, one for the regular and one underneath it for the discounted rate.

Sue...do you know how and why certain states get picked????

there is probably some very convoluted equation based on what states are booking and ones that aren't but my personal theory is that C & A sits around and throws darts at a map to see which states are getting it this week. :D

And don't count on the residency rates listed on the promowave - I got us discounts for MD and VA by doing a ghost booking - they weren't on the promowave - I check on the website every day - sometimes 2x/day.

My theory is they have a machine like the bingo machine that randomly pulls up names of states.:p

I like that theory too, Wrona. How's things??

Could be better, could be worse. An old ankle injury has flared up making it hard to walk, but work's going decently so really can't complain. Wish I was on a cruise though!

Residency discounts have NEVER been for "new bookings only" and don't give them any ideas.;):D

Thanks for the reminder. A new booking only rate for one of our cruises just went to a residency rate today and today I got the discount that was refused this past weekend when it was a new booking only rate.
