how early can board?

Recommended Posts

Hi
We are leaving from Miami on NOS next Sat. The ship leaves at 5P and the documents say to show up at least 2 hours prior. How early could I board? I am driving from Tampa that morning and I want to leave early in the morning just in case. I dont want to show up to early to the port.
Thanks
Gisi

It should tell you in your documents what time boarding begins. Ours for our may cruise, said noon. but as always, the sometimes start a little sooner. Recheck your documents and hopefully you'll see it.
have fun!

You should be able to board as early at 11AM but should begin no later than 12:30. So if it were me, I would plan on arriving at the port around 11AM.

We sailed at 5pm last year and were at the pier at 11am. Boarded shortly after checking in.

Gisi-

Boarding begins as soon as the previous cruisers have cleared the ship, so there is no penalty for arriving early. The port itself is full of people getting off AND getting on which makes for a lot of traffic, but I'm sure you will find a parking place quickly in the garage.

Usually the ticketing lines open between 10 and 11 a.m. Getting there early with your boarding documents completed will put you through the first layer of security and ahead of most lines. At the aforementioned time they will move you through the metal detectors and off to check-in. Suite holders get priority boarding but not that much of a priority. The check-in lines are by deck and move quickly. You will be issued your seapass and checked in to the ship.
Actual boarding will begin shortly afterward. Although the day we sailed immigration had a computer glitch and it slowed boarding. Once onboard the Windjammer is open as are the pools. It is a great time to explore the ship, find your muster station and relax a bit.

Have a great time.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
