happidaze Posted October 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2008 We are off on The Celebration for Christmas! :D I am a little concerned as we are taking our lads ages 16 and 14. Although they need no entertaining, I would hate for them to feel out of place with no others onboard approx their age. Just interseted to the age groups you have experienced onboard. We went in November 3 years ago of which it was mostly older passengers.
kruzseeka Posted October 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2008 At Christmas i.e. during school holidays, you will almost certainly see a different mix of passengers than in November when schools are in session. We recently did a week on the Celebration (term time) and there were 13 children - but mainly under school age. I'm sure your teenagers will find quite a few other youngsters around. Enjoy your trip - I bet it's fab on Celebration at Christmas! :)
SwissLe Posted October 20, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2008 I've seen a pretty good mix on all Thomson Cruises. The upper teen age range tends to be a little harder to find, I think this is when they start to either want to stay at home or don't want to be part of the 'groovy gang'. There does tend to be a higher volume in school/college holidays and they create their own groups. We certainly used to onboard the ships I went on as a teen and the lengths we went to in order to gain alcohol! I am now 23 and my girlfriend is 20, we off on the Destiny on the 7th of next month. happidaze Posted October 21, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted October 21, 2008 SwissLe, very nice to be able to say that at a young age you can choose to cruise :D Agree Kruseeka, eldest is at the age where he chooses not to come, although he is looking forward to this cruise for some unknown reason
