dizneycrazy Posted October 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2008 Hi Everyone, Has anyone stayed in one of the Inside "sideways rooms" before? I am looking into staying in room 5591 on deck 5 on the dawn.. but it is a sideways room?? Any help would be great! Thanks!:D
andychris Posted October 20, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2008 My sister stayed in one in august. We were in the room next door and it wasn't. What questions do you have? The set up is like this. You walk into the room, 3 beds are to the left, so you can not walk to the left. You walk straight in about 3 feet and there is the end table with the tv. To the left of that is the closet and bathroom. The rooms are very small. How many people will be in your room? They had 4 so the beds were put together the whole trip. Not a lot of room to walk around.

Salsera718 Posted October 21, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2008 I love the sideways rooms...two friends stayed in 11025 on the Spirit for a 1 niter and it is bigger than the regular inside room or at least it feels bigger..much more space between the two beds. but the closet and bathroom are to the RIGHT as you walk into the room..the bathroom configuaration is bigger too due to the fact that there is no partition betwen the commode and the shower...I am claustropobic but I would stay in this type cabin ( I was in room 6036 (Oceanview) and felt that the inside cabin felt bigger (other than the window) JMHO
andychris Posted October 21, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2008 The rooms are extremely small. Which ships have you been on before to compare it to? In comparasion to carnival and disney, ncl is much smaller. You will be fine but it is very tight. We are a family of 4-, the kids are 13 and 10. Would we stay in that type of room again, probably not. We called and also looked at the ocenview rooms on the dawn and was told that they are basically the same size but with a window. You will have a nice time but just know that the room is small. Maybe thinking it is going to be small, when you see it you will not be surprised and expect too much. lukes Posted October 21, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 21, 2008 We are 4 (adults) and we always stay in one (yes one) inside cabin. Twice, and mostly recently Aug on the Dawn we had a sideways room. Maybe it was because this was our 4th cruise and we have learned to pack a little less (just a tiny little) or we know more of what to expect but we found we had more room this time around. We like the flow of the sideways rooms, feels like the room is divided, with the beds to one side, closet and bathroom to the other side. Anyways this time we had more room, less clutter. We all commented on it several times. We look at the deck plan and try for these cabins everytime we book.

Lukes~ Did you find the closet space in the sideways to be pretty comparable to a reg inside??? Also, what was the confiuration of the 4 beds??? Thanks:)
