Mariner: adult only pool=nudity??

Recommended Posts

I haven't been on this ship, but the RCCL ships that I have been on do not suggest that the Solarium Pool is for swimming or sunning in states of undress. I believe the Adults only is meant to keep children out of the area so older patrons can have a little quiet while enjoying there pool and hot tub time. It just means no kids allowed here as we don't want to put up with the noise and the younger crowd.

There are no nudity places / decks on RCCL ships. It´s just adults only to keep the kids out.

I went on the AOS last year, and when they say "adult only" it has nothing to do with nudity. It is just a place for adults to get away from squelling (sp?) little kids. They even let me and my brother (teenagers) in a hot tub with my parents because we were calm so it was fine. They only place you may see nudity on your cruise is in certain ports there are nudes beaches, but any taxi driver could tell you which ones.

I know the question was a serious (and legitimate) one, but I got quite a "visual" when I read it......my husband and I got a laugh every time we walked thru the Solarium area in the afternoon.....all the sleeping, gaping-mouthed, snoring, sprawled-out "senior" cruisers were quite a sight!!! Imagining that scene without clothes is hilarious!!!! icon_eek.gif

So, the "adults only" designation allows adults to have a quiet area, and is generally used mostly buy older cruisers. The lounges are nicer, too, with padding instead of just the plastic strapping.

We have been on four RCCL cruises and yet to have seen any form of nudity on the ships. We have not even as much seen any swim attire that would be considered in bad taste except the guys wearing speedo's with their big stomach hanging over them. LOL

ghoterman2 - What a question for your 1st post! icon_rolleyes.gif

Some women have been known to go topless on the very upper decks of ships, but no nudity anywhere else on the ship (unless you are in your room or spa).

Contrary to HB Cruiser's statement, we have seen many states of "bad taste" in swim wear along our years of cruising. Some people should just not be wearing a bikini. icon_biggrin.gif That includes the men also. icon_rolleyes.gif

Family of 14

I stand corrected. There have been some, in bad taste, that should not have been wearing a bikini. They just had too much body for too little bikini.

What I was referring to was someone wearing too revealing swimwear.

Yes, quite a question for your first post.

The Sloarium Pool was my favorite place on the ship, nice and quiet and deck patrol did keep it to adults only icon_smile.gif
